The January issues of big titles like InStyle tend to signify a fresh editorial kick-off and for their first cover of 2018, this major editorial publication snagged singer, actress, designer and former Disney channel sweetheart Zendaya. Although Zendaya had previously stunned on the red carpet, clad in some of the most avant-garde fashion for the past couple of seasons, this cover reaffirms her style from childhood starlet to style star.

Keep Scrolling to Get the Look

On the cover, the gorgeous 21-year old actress dazzled in a turquoise velvet Chloe set and gloriously over sized golden hoops, just one of the looks among a myriad of bold fashion ensembles in a spread heavily inspired by the 1970’s. A prevailing theme inside the issue seemed to be the disco scene of New York, the location of the shoot while Zendaya’s hair look breathes fresh air into the pages of the monthly with her lucious locks perfectly complementing a full-body metallic jumpsuit on one page.

Speaking of the latter, the jumpsuit was a prominent constituent of the looks she was styled in, a whooping 4 of those appeared in the shoot altogether. Elsewhere, wearing an orange pair of pants, disco-ball-inspired button-down tied in the front and over sized specs, Zendaya proves she is not only style icon in her own right but one that continues to embrace her notably individual fashion identity.

Aside from her role in the upcoming film The Greatest Showman, the young actress and activist released her first apparel and shoe collection, Daya by Zendaya, alongside celebrity stylist Law Roach. The clothing line is already proving to be an absolute hit on the internet, and rightfully so as it is a debut of a much-anticipated gender-less line.

She may only be 21 years old but has been working since the age of 13 with no sign of slowing down her career anytime soon. Like the cover title so eloquently puts it, “[She is] on fire!”.
