We recently talked about a couple of these pieces in our round-up of must-have pieces for fall, now that you’ve taken your picks, discover how to wear this season’s must-haves and not get fed up in the months ahead.
Floor Length Coat
There is something about the dramatic appeal of a longline coat that adds a serious dose of chic once the temperatures start descending. To avoid being overpowered by a floor length coat, keep the silhouette under it relatively fitted. Upgrade a jeans and sweater ensemble with a statement outerwear piece hitting just at the ankles or re- create a menswear-inspired silhouette by pairing a tuxedo with an ankle-grazing overcoat for a touch of old Hollywood glamour. For a multi-texturized look that will become a favorite go-to this party season, pair a slinky dress with an ultra-long outerwear piece for the ultimate statement.
Boots may as well be one of the things we are most excited about during the Winter seasons, and with the myriad of options this year, there are as many ways to wear them as there are chic new styles. Ankle boots take short hemlines into the colder months and add edge to the more feminine dresses in your wardrobe while over-the-knee boots are an instant upgrade to denim and billowing, floral dresses for bohemian appeal. Embellished and/or textured styles convey a statement on their own and breathe new life into an otherwise monochromatic silhouette while also balancing the head-turning boots as well and letting them to the talking when you are pretty much covered up to your chin in winter gear.
